CAPITAL PRINTING & DIE CUTTING

DIE CUTTING
Die Cutting
Cutting an image or shape into or out of paper using a sharp steel rule. Used to create presentation folders, report covers, door hangers and packaging.
Perforating
Punching a sheet of paper with a special steel rule, which has teeth that create a series of small holes to allow a part of the sheet to be easily detached.
Scoring
Using a steel rule to partly crease paper so that it will fold easily at a desired line without cracking the fiber of the paper.
Kiss Cutting
Die cutting the top layer, but not the backing layer, of self-adhesive paper. Commonly used for peel off stickers.

Foil Stamping
Foil Stamping
The process of stamping or fusing foil onto paper using a heated die, bonding the design to the surface. Foils come in a variety of colors and can be matte, glossy, holographic, metallic, or clear. When combined with embossing, foil stamping creates a striking 3D image.
Foil Embossing
Stamping foil onto paper using a heated die, bonding the design to the surface. The same area is then embossed with a die, creating a three-dimensional raised area, usually text or an image.
Scratch-off Foils
Scratch off cards are a unique and interactive way to get your customers to interact with your brand, and works for small and large business!

EMBOSSING
Embossing
A method of impressing an image using a specially made die under high pressure to form a raised three-dimensional impression onto the surface of paper.
Single-Level Emboss
The embossed image area is raised to just one flat level.
Multi-Level Emboss
The embossed image area is raised to multiple levels having different depths.
Blind Emboss
A design which is not stamped over a printed image or with a foil. The color of the embossed image is the same as the color of the surface.
Registered Emboss
This is an embossed image that is in exact alignment to a printed or foil stamped image. The printed image area is embossed to give a three-dimensional look and feel.
Sculptured Emboss
The embossed image area has more of a contour with various levels of depth to make the image appear realistic and multi dimensional.
Printed Emboss
The embossed image area registers with printed image. Depending on customer requirements and specifications, the bevel can stay inside the printed image or go outside it.
Foil Emboss
Combining Foil Stamping with Embossing to create more depth and texture than Foil Stamping alone.
Deboss
The surface is depressed instead of raised as in embossing.

GLUING & FOLDING
Gluing & Folding
The process uses a tool or mechanical pressure to produce a sharply defined fold before securing the piece. In mechanical folding, the sheet is doubled between two rollers under an appropriate amount of pressure for the thickness of the paper. The end result is a sharp fold that virtually eliminates the paper’s natural tendency to brake or to remain flat. The glues used in securing the piece vary, depending on the materials being used.
